Meet the Horses
We have had many horses over the years. All of them have been special and many of them found forever homes in other places.
Gallant Prince Patrick is the gelded son of Painted Patrick and Gallant Black Fancy. My dad sold his only heifer back in 1993 so that he and my mom could buy me an awkward 4 month old foal. I have been his only trainer and literally the only one on his back for the first five years of his life. Thirty years later that foal is a family friend. He loves everyone. He has even visited my parents inside their house. He loves to ride and show off his stuff. I’ll share some of my favorite stories and pictures here. With difficult times it has not always been easy to keep up with him, but sending him away is not an option. We are the only home he has ever known.

Snoopy is a Sukkot miracle. He is a mini horse given, that’s right, given to my daughter Adrian during Sukkot as she had been praying for a mini horse! Careful when kiddies pray! At the time we had too many horses on too little pasture. It was a delicate balance of personalities with all three geldings forgetting they were in fact geldings and the mares being, well, mares. Even though I wanted to start another foal, I would not here because of the dynamics. So you may understand why I was cautious when my mom came to me privately to tell me about a mini knowing that Adrian had been praying for a “free mini horse.” I got information from my mom (who lives with us) and tried to put a wrench in the mix by questioning my daughter on the color of the horse she had been praying to get. That didn’t work they matched up perfectly. So we took in her answered prayer which made gelding number 4 that wanted to rule the pasture. It was funny to see him challenge our spotted draft. Though Manny (the big guy) never gave Snoopy too much thought.
